Book 1

Dark Creatures:

SCREET

Screet thrive on fear. Their grotesque, soul-piercing screams are designed specifically to instill terror in all who hear them. They can sense fear—drawn to it, fueled by it, and driven to attack those who exhibit it. The Elements and Guardians must learn to confront these creatures without allowing their senses to betray them. Mastery over fear is essential to their survival.

SAGUZARRAK

These grotesque creatures resemble monkey-like beasts, each roughly the size of a grown man. Their most striking features include oversized, golden-yellow ears and a tubular nose of the same hue, jutting awkwardly from fur-covered bodies. Their eyes glow an eerie red, and their hairless heads add to their unsettling appearance. Long, razor-sharp claws extend from their fingers—tools of violence and fear. A low, guttural hum rumbles from deep within their bellies, resonating like a hive alive with menace. Bound by a hive mentality, these beings serve a higher will—driven not by thought, but by command.

They are only the size of a dinner plate. Their fur-covered bodies look sort of like a sting ray, flat and comprising of two wings. There are four tendons at the end of each wing, and their faces look eerie. They have no eyes, and the heads, unlike the rest of their bodies, has no fur, but rather slime, like a snail’s. They have two tiny claws below their body which they use to cling onto the tree branches. There seem to be quite a few of them, looking down at the children and Hope, assessing the team…

SAKIT

Sakits have extremely small eyes. Their teeth are much larger than a normal rat’s but the most horrific part is the fact that they look as if they have no skin. So, you can see directly into their sinew, muscle and bones. They have a foul smell about them, even when they are alive.
